About Our Network

Five sleep psychologists united by a passion for helping people reclaim restful nights.

OUR STORY

Why We Came Together

We didn't all meet in one place or at one time. Our paths intersected at different points along our careers. Some of us crossed paths during postdoctoral fellowship. Others worked together at the VA or at sleep clinics. A few were connected through mutual colleagues. But every time we found each other, the same thing happened: we clicked.

We bonded over a shared passion for psychology and a genuine joy in learning about sleep. Beyond the work, we just liked each other. We respected each other's clinical skills and enjoyed the kind of conversations that run long because nobody wants to end the conversation. Somewhere along the way, those conversations turned into a bigger idea.

We dreamed about building a collaboration among sleep psychologists that could promote science-backed practice and help more people access high quality care. We wanted a support network where providers could consult, learn, and grow together. And we knew from the start that this work had to be grounded in inclusive, affirming care that honors each person's unique experience and celebrates diversity. That dream became Sleep Therapist Network.

OUR APPROACH

Research-Based, Person-Centered Care

We believe in treatment that doesn't just sound like a good idea but has actually been tested through rigorous scientific methods. That's why we focus on research-based approaches.

For example, every major medical organization, including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American College of Physicians, and American Psychological Association recognize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) as the first-line treatment for insomnia because of the large body of research showing its effectiveness across different ages, contexts, and co-occurring disorders. It's helpful whether or not you are also using sleep medications and has shown to have longer-lasting effects when compared to sleep medications.

But clinical science alone isn't enough. We combine research-based treatment with genuine human warmth. We listen deeply to understand your unique sleep struggles, your fears, and what matters most to you. Every treatment plan is individualized because we don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Your insomnia is different from someone else's. Your life circumstances are unique. Your treatment should reflect that.
