We didn't all meet in one place or at one time. Our paths intersected at different points along our careers. Some of us crossed paths during postdoctoral fellowship. Others worked together at the VA or at sleep clinics. A few were connected through mutual colleagues. But every time we found each other, the same thing happened: we clicked.
We bonded over a shared passion for psychology and a genuine joy in learning about sleep. Beyond the work, we just liked each other. We respected each other's clinical skills and enjoyed the kind of conversations that run long because nobody wants to end the conversation. Somewhere along the way, those conversations turned into a bigger idea.
We dreamed about building a collaboration among sleep psychologists that could promote science-backed practice and help more people access high quality care. We wanted a support network where providers could consult, learn, and grow together. And we knew from the start that this work had to be grounded in inclusive, affirming care that honors each person's unique experience and celebrates diversity. That dream became Sleep Therapist Network.
